EDDIE
VAN HALEN SIGNATURE WAH
Here’s the third pedal in the Dunlop EVH trilogy –
the Eddie Van Halen Signature Wah Wah, this time sporting
natty yellow and black paint, as used by Ed round about the
time of the Van Halen II album. The EVH Wah Wah, as ever,
is the result of intensive collaboration between Dunlop’s
design engineers and the legendary guitarist. Early on in
the design process, Eddie handed over his own ‘Holy
Grail’ Crybaby to the Dunlop boys – a standard
Crybaby customised in the early ‘90s with a more vocal-like,
high-Q inductor and a wider frequency sweep. Amazingly, Dunlop
found that over the years Eddie’s unique wah style,
which uses mostly the middle range of the wah’s action,
had carved his own curve into the pot’s resistive element
making the middle range even more defined and increasing the
low-end sweep. Dunlops clones of the worn-in pot and hand-selected
inductor give the new EVH Wah Wah the same ‘Holy Grail’
feel and tone, and the EVH wah also features a true hardwire
bypass (with dual bright blue bypass LED indicators)!
This superb EVH-approved Crybaby HAS a voice and look all
of its own. Class.
