VSA590
ADDED TO VINTAGE® SEMI RANGE
Big semi-acoustics exude a certain class, don’t they?
They’re certainly versatile guitars, with a connection
right back to jazz guitars, though the slim-body versions
offer a truly resonant and gutsy sound with a sweet-toned
acoustic tonality in there too. The brand new Vintage VSA590
offers the best of both worlds, without a doubt – offering
the drop dead good looks of those era-defining 1960’s
hollowbody guitars, the VSA590 is actually a semi thanks to
the central section of wood running along the middle of the
body, which really anchors down those gorgeous twin ‘dog
ear’ alnico-powered P90-style pickups, with their highly
polished nickel-silver metal covers, matching the nickel plated
hardware used throughout on this guitar.
True to the constructional traditional of this style of big
semi, the VSA’s carefully arched front and back body
is made from a 5-layer ply of maple and birch, with maple
used as the top wood. The slim, 22 fret neck design is of
mahogany with a smooth rosewood board and is rigidly set into
the big body for maximum strength and stability, and just
check out that vibrant 60’s style sunburst... Fab authentic
trapeze tailpiece arrangement too, and the traditional four-rotary
control grouping – two volume, two tone, with a 3-way
pickup selector.
A lot of guitar, especially when that price gets you the case
as well!
