CV AUDIO STOCKS UP ON COHEDRA COMPACT
Coventry,
England-based CV Audio has long been a loyal HK Audio user.
Staging live events with mainly a COHEDRA COMPACT line array
and HK AUDIO ConTour series cabinets, CV Audio has earned
an excellent reputation, especially in the folk and acoustic
music scene.
Now
CV Audio has stocked up its COHEDRA COMPACT arsenal with
another eight CDR 108C mid-/high-range units.
“We chose COHEDRA COMPACT because its flexibility
means it can be employed on many different sizes of events,"
notes company owner Graham Bradshaw. “What’s
more, we use the system because of the great clarity and
quality of its sound, which is perfect for the folk and
acoustic genre we typically work in. Guest sound engineers,
in general, are very impressed with the system and delighted
with the uniform pattern of throw, even in venues that are
difficult to cover."
This
impressive quality was on full display at this year's Shrewsbury
Folk Festival, one of the biggest of its kind in England,
where CV Audio was responsible for the show’s sound.
The venue consists of two tent stages, the bigger tent holding
about 3,000 people and the smaller accommodating audiences
of about 1,000.
Graham Bradshaw comments, “In the big tent, we had
flown eight COHEDRA COMPACT CDR 108C cabs on each side,
and placed four CDR 210 C subwoofers each on the ground.
For the centre subs, we used four of our slightly older
HL 118 subwoofers, and two ConTour series CT 108s as front-fills.
We also deployed two CT 112s on top of CDR 210 blocks as
out-fills. A combination of Lab Gruppen 10000Q and HK VX2400
amps powered the entire rig.
" For the smaller tent, we used an HK Audio ConTour
Array system with three CT 118s and two CTA 208s on each
side. Everyone involved was very satisfied with the sound."
CV Audio is booked near solid for the 2009 festival season,
the company’s calendar brimming with no less than
21 weekend events so far.
“We’re looking forward to the events ahead,
for which we will of course use our COHEDRA COMPACT assets
and our other HK Audio products in different combinations.
And if things keep going this way, we will surely stock
up our inventory of COHEDRA COMPACT yet again," summarises
CV Audio skipper Bradshaw.
