LITESTRUCTURES PLAYS
HOST TO HK AUDIO SEMINAR
With a recent schedule which has included staging production
rehearsals by major acts and shows including Take That, Girls
Aloud, Coldplay’s Viva La Vida production, Kylie’s
X tour and X Factor Live, the massive purpose-built rehearsal
facility situated at Litestructures’ site complex, near
Wakefield, West Yorks, proved the ideal location for HK Audio
and UK distributor John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd., to demonstrate
a number of HK Audio systems in front of invited guests from
the pro audio industry.
Focusing on HK’s Concert Sound product range the aim
of the seminar, held over a two day period, provided an opportunity
for both existing and potential new users to learn more about
the basics of line array theory. Presenting the seminar, HK
Audio’s Christian Stumpp, Head of Sales for Concert
& Install Sound, took the opportunity to expand on the
philosophy behind HK's line array system designs, before offering
attendees the chance to audition and compare the various system
options in action.
The presentation also provided the chance for existing users
in the HK network to further build co-operative relationships
in preparation for the busy summer festival and concert season
ahead.
Concert systems from HK on display included a flown COHEDRA
line array, along with the smaller scale COHEDRA Compact (CoCo)
line array and the already-popular ConTour Array passive and
active versions, in both flown and groundstack configurations.
Other ConTour Series enclosures included the CT108, CT112,
CT115 and CT118 along with some of the larger active, self-powered
'Portable Sound' range systems such as ACTOR DX and PROJECTOR,
alongside a selection of active and passive monitors from
HK’s Premium PR:O range.
An enthusiastic accumulation of guests relished the opportunity
to be able to compare the various HK Audio system options
at their leisure, especially in a self-contained, large-scale
environment, free of the usual time limits and noise restrictions.
“The seminar proved an excellent opportunity to hear
HK’s professional products in a ‘real space’
environment,” was how Guy Morris of MLS Audio summed
up the seminar, adding, “It was a very helpful exercise
in determining what purchases will be useful for future inventory.”
About Litestuctures
Seminar attendees were also impressed by the fantastic purpose-built
facility that is the Litestructures production rehearsal studio.
Having established themselves as a forerunner in manufacture
of high-tech, precision-manufactured, ultra-lightweight truss
assemblies for functional and decoration purposes with full
on-site production and fabrication, Litestructures’
other innovations include Litedeck alloy assembly staging
and - especially relevant to the pro audio industry - LiteMast,
an innovative new product designed to provide support solutions
for touring sound reinforcement. Constructed from Litestructures’
renowned LitePro compact heavy duty trussing system, LiteMast
incorporates the unique ProBase system. Fitted with universal
mountings for chain hoists and hinged corners all round, it
allows the unit to fold down for shipping, eliminating the
need to fully disassemble the mast, demonstrating the company’s
‘real world’ product design approach.
