The exclusive new Boisdale club at Canary Wharf has kitted itself out
for the best sound reinforcement possible, with the purchase of an extensive
sound system made up of HK Audio and Lab.Gruppen equipment.
Situated in the Canary Wharf business district in central London, Boisdale
houses a whiskey bar, wine and cigar shop, a Cigar Terrace, a Scottish
restaurant, and the latest star among European jazz clubs. The whole
venue stretches to over 13,000 square feet, and has already played host
to the likes of high profile artists like Jools Holland and his Rhythm
& Blues Orchestra.
Boisdale ended up choosing HK Audio's Vortis system, and the new sound
reinforcement for the club stage consists of two VR 21214 2 x 12”/1.4”
and VR 11214 12”/1.4” mid/high cabinets, together with four
CT 118 sub woofers and several ConTour Series monitors.
Nathan Evans, Deputy Managing Director of Boisdale PLC, said: “The
Boisdale Canary Wharf project has taken over three years and many of
the exciting developments for our brand have come as a direct result
of the scale of our new premises (over 13,000 square feet), none more
so than the music offer. Boisdale Canary Wharf is the first time we
– or anyone else, to my knowledge – have attempted to combine
a world class dining experience with world class music.
In order to achieve this, I knew we would need to invest in very high
quality equipment and as a musician myself I had had the pleasure of
using HK and Lab.Gruppen equipment in the past.”
The install was organised through London-based AV production company
DBAV. Evans continued: “The results have been fantastic despite
the challenging nature of the performers we book – a full swing
band with brass and strings one night, an 8-piece blues act the next.
With the assistance of our in-house sound team and our amazing install
team headed by Duncan Baines at DBAV, we have been able to achieve fantastic
results, whatever the musical style.
I cannot recommend HK Audio and Lab.Gruppen equipment enough.”
