CHRIS REA WITH ITALIA ON RADIO 2 'LIVE IN THE MORNING' SESSION

On a recent 'Live In The Morning' session for the Ken Bruce Show on Radio 2, Chris Rea performed a selection of songs live from his just-released 'Greatest Hits – Still So Far To Go' package. The material included Chris' new single, 'Come So Far, Yet Still So Far To Go' with its gritty, rocking lead guitar hooks featuring Chris' unmistakeable slide style, performed on his much-loved blue sparkle style Italia Maranello, of which he has just taken delivery of a further two.

Chris remembers his discovery of Italia guitars as something akin to a personal epiphany. "It was in a music shop in London's Denmark Street that I found this blue sparkly guitar – and that was it for me. I thought it was an old guitar – I didn't know it was new!"

That blue sparkly guitar was, in fact, an inexpensive Italia Maranello model that Rea had stumbled across...

"In terms of me playing and listening to it, it sounded almost identical to 'Pinky' (Rea's famous old Strat®)," continues Rea, "but with no buzz – not a sausage! And to think that it's supposed to be a cheap guitar! So I immediately got another three from Denmark Street, one for E straight, E tuning with capo, and so on."
