Fret-King
and Vintage head to Korea as JHS signs exclusive distribution deal
with SAMA Trading Co. Ltd.
John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd. has joined forces with SAMA Trading
Co. Ltd., who will exclusively distribute the Fret-King® and Vintage®
guitar brands throughout South Korea from March 1st 2012.
SAMA will take on the entire Fret-King range, including the newly released
Black Label line and the classic Blue and Green Labels, as well as the
Vintage Electric catalogue, with Vintage Acoustics to follow later on
in 2012.
Jason Inn, SAMA's Managing Director, said: “We are very proud
to be working with one of the largest musical instrument distribution
companies in the UK. We got a chance to play Fret-King and Vintage guitars
at the Music China show last year, and we were astonished by their sound,
price and performance.”
SAMA’s staff then came back to visit the JHS booth at the recent
NAMM 2012 show, where he met Fret-King and Vintage designer Trev Wilkinson
and got the full story behind the iconic JHS brands.
Jason said: “SAMA and JHS have many things in common in terms
of running business. Both companies are family owned and both work in
the pro audio and musical instrument markets simultaneously, with the
founders of each firm still very, very active. We are very glad and
looking forward to establishing a long-term partnership with JHS, and
we will do our absolute best to represent JHS and their brands in Korea.”
Meanwhile, Adam Butterworth, JHS's Export Sales Manager, said: “We
are extremely pleased to be working with SAMA Trading Co. Ltd. for the
distribution of our guitar brands in South Korea. The Korean market
is very well developed and Sama has a very long tradition and history
in the MI industry.”
