January 2012
JHS
gears up for NAMM 2012 and the worldwide unveiling of Fret-King
Black Label
Worldwide trade distributors John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd.
is gearing up for a massive NAMM 2012 with the international release
of a brand new electric guitar and bass range – Fret-King
Black Label – and a showcase of its full range of guitars
and basses now distributed in more than 70 countries around the
globe.
The show will see the worldwide unveiling of the new Fret-King
Black Label electric guitar and bass range. The result of this
collaboration between Trev Wilkinson and hugely experienced players
like Jerry Donahue, Dave “Bucket” Colwell, Gordon
Giltrap, and Geoff Whitehorn – all players who have definitely
paid their dues, reflect a huge variety of styles, and who, as
well as being great players, know a thing or two about guitars
– is a collection of artist-inspired guitars featuring attributes
that all players will find useable, useful, and, above all, musical.

‘GG’, designed in cooperation with Gordon Giltrap.
There are also standards to be recognised, passed and improved
upon. The new Black Label range includes the ECLAT, a singlecut
with peerless classic looks, and a tonal palette of such sophistication
it could be three other guitars as well. The COUNTRY SQUIRE is
a magical fusion of the familiar with the contemporary. The ELISE
has a body style with a heritage that spans all musical styles,
while the CORONA, a “moniker” associated with high-end
UK-built double-cut Fret-Kings for over two decades, builds on
the roots of this icon. Meanwhile, the SUPER-HYBRID is radical,
yet so useable, and the PERCEPTION is a name synonymous with basses
for real bass players.
Fret-King will also showcase Blue Label, premium designer guitar
classics, UK-built Green Label and the unique STVDIO guitars,
from Trev Wilkinson’s design studio .
The hugely popular Vintage guitar range is back at NAMM for 2012
with a new Vintage Graham Oliver Signature guitar – the
VS6GO – for the founding Saxon member. Based on Graham's
trustworthy white dual humbucking rock machine, this new model
really allows players to turn it up to 11 for an affordable price,
just as the man himself has done over a 35-year career that has
seen him sell more than 13 million albums and play at sold-out
arenas across the world.

On the acoustic side, international 12-string
authority Paul Brett is debuting his new pair of Vintage Paul
Brett Signature acoustics. Featuring a six-string and a 12-string
model, the pair are heavily influenced by the “working man’s
guitars” of the 1930’s. Paul is on the JHS booth throughout
the show, so go across and see him to find out what all the fuss
is about.

Ten million-selling Big Country bassist Tony Butler is the proud
new owner of the first ever Vintage Signature bass.
The Vintage Tony Butler Signature bass (Model V4MTB) is built
to Tony's exacting specifications – black body and scratchplate,
with maple neck and fingerboard – and joins the bestselling
Vintage V4 bass stable.
Also on display are the complete ranges of electric and acoustic
guitars and basses from Vintage and Encore, as well as the classical
and electro-classical Santos Martinez line, featuring the all-new
internationally-renowned Raymond Burley Signature model.
Jerry Donahue himself will be present on the JHS stand throughout
the show, and is reuniting his guitar trio Hellecasters to headline
the Deke's Guitar Geek Festival on the Saturday night at the Anaheim
Plaza hotel. Stop by and see him and his new guitars in action.
Make sure you stop by at the JHS booth at Hall E 1212 to check
