Odyssey gets more wind and makes more waves this autumn

The recently redesigned ranges of Odyssey® Debut™ and Premiere™ brass and woodwind instruments continue to gain a well-deserved reputation for reliability, value, and performance way outside their price class.

Collecting awards such as MI Pro's Best In Category: Brass & Woodwind, Odyssey is rapidly becoming a trusted dealer favourite, and the choice of serious players.

Designer Peter Pollard said: “To have players such as Mark Gillbanks, Barry Jackson and Nick Wright standing behind Odyssey because they understand just how good the quality is proves that if we can create instruments that satisfy professionals, those same instruments will really help new players enjoy their progress.”

And, in the coming weeks and months, Pollard is set to bring the brand to the streets for a number of upcoming events:

The Odyssey Allstars (L-R): Barry Jackson, Duncan Winfield, Mark Gillbanks, Jim Fieldhouse.
September 2nd – Dudley Museum & Art Gallery
The museum's Metal exhibition will host Pollard and professional flautist Barry Jackson as they play and demonstrate the evolution of musical instruments. An Odyssey display, featuring both Debut and Premiere series, will be on-hand to illustrate how far the human craft has come, and Pollard and Jackson will go from blowing into hose pipes to playing melodies on their state of the art instruments.

September 3rd – Musicroom Portsmouth
The Musicroom Portsmouth store will host an Odyssey-themed day of fun, with Pollard and Jackson providing lessons and expert advice on the Premiere and Debut lines.

September 4th – Victoria Centre Nottingham
The Victoria Centre shopping mall in Nottingham turns into a beach in late summer for Seaside On The Square. On September 4th, the final day, the Odyssey Allstars, a group of professional musicians who all favour Odyssey Premiere instruments, will take to the stage to keep the party flowing.

September 24th – Lakeland Music Penrith
The brand new Lakeland Music store in Penrith is celebrating its opening every weekend of September, culminating in an Odyssey Allstars show and a display of Odyssey instruments on the 24th. Between 10am and 4pm, Peter and the team will be offering free instrument maintenance checks, free 20-minute tuition sessions (which people can book in advance) and more.

October 22nd – Victoria Centre Nottingham
Returning to Musicroom at Nottingham's Victoria Centre, Peter Pollard will be on-hand to demonstrate and explain the benefits of Odyssey brasswind instruments to half-term shoppers looking for the first hint of Christmas bargains.

October 24th – Musicroom Poole

October 25th – Musicroom Salisbury

October 26th – Musicroom Bristol

October 27th – Banks Musicroom York
On a day dedicated to the trumpet, Peter Pollard will be joined by renowned players Nick Wright and Mark Gillbanks at Banks Musicroom York. There they will play and demonstrate some of the Odyssey range's key brass instruments, including the Debut Cornet and Trumpet, and the Premiere Series, including the OCR900 (endorsed by Alan Morrison), the OCR1100 Trumpet and OFG1300, described simply as “excellent” by Mark Gillbanks. Also getting an outing at this special event will be the super-cute Odyssey OCR100P Pocket Trumpet, the OFH1700 “Baby” French Horn, and the OTB1700 B?trombone.

November 26th – Musicroom Lincoln

Odyssey has already proven to be a great seller at Musicroom Lincoln, so Peter Pollard and the Odyssey Allstars will be attending to promote the line in style. Demos, entertaining performances and advice from Peter Pollard will all be the order of the day.

October 28th – Musicroom Stratford

October 29th – Musicroom Leeds

December 3rd – Musicroom Portsmouth
As Christmas draws near, Odyssey designer Peter Pollard will join a series of Pompey’s best local brasswind ensembles to play carols and raise early festive cheer with shoppers. Once again, a comprehensive selection of the Odyssey range will feature prominently.

Odyssey continues to impress, with more and more dealers understanding the outstanding blend of high specification, and real value, choosing the Odyssey Debut series as their key entry level line and Odyssey Premiere as the best improver line available. Full line wall displays are appearing in stores across the country.

Peter Pollard said: “I'm really pleased and excited about the progress that Odyssey is making. It's fantastic that Musicroom has taken the range on, but I'm not surprised. Customers are constantly amazed when they find out how much instrument we can fit into such a small price package!”
