ROCKSCOOL ACADEMY SECURES JHS INVOLVEMENT

Having already experienced rapidly burgeoning growth in their native North East of England, RocksCool Academy are endeavouring to make sure that young people who wish to be involved with music can have full access to all the tuition and skills they will need to enhance and progress their life through music, should they wish.

And though the course offers direct access to tuition in all the main components of being in a band such as rock guitar, vocals, drums, bass guitar and keyboards, the structured tuition can be realised in formal qualifications, thanks to RocksCool's appointment as a recognised examination centre. Graded examinations are available up to grade 8 level in the disciplines outlined above - no mean achievement for any student who opts to take it that far, and further strong evidence of the Academy's wholehearted intent to make music a major part of young peoples' lives.

To this end, RocksCool Academy insist that their 'It's More Than Music' mission statement helps illustrate that being part of RocksCool Academy is more than 'just' learning to play in a band, it also contributes significantly towards students' personal development, self esteem and teamworking skills.

"Over the past 18 months we have worked with a number of partners including Creative Partnerships on programmes to help develop personal development, with great success," outlines RocksCool MD, Gary Melling. "In 2008 and 2009 we have worked closely with Northumberland County Council's Extended Services Division, working with 50 schools in the region, on our RocksCool project to young people aged between 11-18 on the transition from secondary to high school, encouraging self-development to great success. We continue to work in partnership with Extended Services across the region."
Through the provision of music sessions, students learn to work within a group to reach set targets. Session structure is also underpinned by a focus on social interaction, confidence building and communication.

RocksCool Academy were also recently present as a guest exhibitor at the 2009 JHS Event trade show, taking the opportunity to meet the many dealers and retailers attending the show in order to explain the benefits of the RocksCool Academy licensing arrangement. With this fully-approved facility, stores can generate additional business via the supply of instruments to a RocksCool co-ordinated tuition programme. And, whilst at Event, negotiations between RocksCool and JHS were finalised to the extent that the Garforth-based distributor's catalogue was secured as the sole MI accredited product sponsor to the programme via such appropriate JHS brands as Fret-King, Vintage and Encore instruments, Kustom amplification, PP Drums, GYC cabling, N-Tune tuners, Diago pedal boards, Dunlop pedals and accessories, Kinsman cases and bags.

RocksCool's Gary Melling comments; "We see JHS, and their brands, as being totally 'on the case' with bringing astonishing value to young musicians, and we believe that the team at JHS, like RocksCool, really cares about the musical and life outcomes of the thousands of kids who start to play each year. Particularly for guitarists, what JHS have done with their Vintage® brand is very, very impressive, offering a level of quality which can only inspire players!"

Dennis Drumm, JHS MD states, "..RocksCool impressed us with their level of business organisation and commitment to students. It's a pleasure to be associated with such a forward-looking organisation, and together, we look forward to providing great instruments and equipment for RocksCool students to use, and bringing additional commercial benefit to new RocksCool licensees."

Now looking to expand throughout the UK and with a list of potential retailer benefits which include additional streams of income and increases in turnover and retail traffic, interested parties who wish to find out more about the RocksCool Licence scheme should contact RocksCool Music Academy MD, Gary Melling, details below:
