The
burgeoning Scottish music scene will celebrate its homegrown successes
on Sunday September 4th at the Classic Grand venue in Glasgow, and Vintage®
guitars – distributed worldwide by John Hornby Skewes & Co.
Ltd. – will be offered as prizes to three of the lucky winners.
The awards, the first of their kind for Scotland, have been set up to
promote the emerging talent in Scotland on a national and international
level.
The event does not focus on one scene, one city, or one genre, instead
encompassing all aspects of the music industry, with the goal being
to recognise the effort and dedication that artists, bands, individuals,
companies and service providers put into the Scottish music scene 365
days a year.
The awards, hosted by Britain’s Got Talent’s Edward Reid,
will include performances from artists such as Jill Jackson, Nicola
Cassells, Leon Jackson, Bombskare and more, and tickets for the show
are sold out.
The hugely successful line of Vintage guitars have long been a favourite
of touring musicians who want a professional quality, affordable instrument
that will stand up to the rigour of playing gig after gig, night after
night, and so the guitars seemed like ideal prizes for three of the
categories on the night.
Up for grabs will be one Vintage ICON Lemon Drop electric guitar, a
V300N acoustic in Natural, and an electro-acoustic VGA900SB Sweetwater
in Sunburst. All three guitars are typical of the Vintage range: wallet-friendly,
great sounding, hugely playable, and great lookers to boot.
Bruce Hotchkies, director of the awards, said: “I hoped that the
night would be a success, but I had no idea we would sell out the venue!
The response for what we are doing has been incredible!
I’m praying things go smoothly on Sunday and I’m already
looking forward to next year’s event!”
