Chantel McGregor
At seven, Chantel began guitar lessons, and
at the grand old age of eight she became the
youngest person in the country to pass a Rockschool
grade. By 12 years, she was a regular participant
at the weekly jam session at the Melbourne
Hotel in Bradford. Helped and encouraged by
all the musicians, she developed rapidly into
an incredible rock and blues musician.
Now qualified at grade eight and the holder
of the 2006/2007 prize for outstanding musicianship
at the world renowned Leeds College of Music,
a chance meeting with a well known local band
saw Chantel back doing what she does best
– singing and playing with feel to die
for – which led to the formation of
a blues-rock trio, the Chantel McGregor Band.
Whilst playing extensively around the North
of England (and jamming on a few occasions
with her friend and hero, a certain Mr Joe
Bonamassa), she continued her college studies,
achieving a BA First Class honours degree
in popular music in July 2009.
Speaking about her personalised guitars, Chantel
comments, "I am proud and delighted to
become a Fret-King endorsee. Trev Wilkinson
is a superb designer and I look forward to
taking these out on tour very soon."
