Jones
George
Jones has deep roots in the Welsh rock scene;
he is the son of Micky Jones the founding member
of legendary Welsh Rock Band MAN.
George took over his father's role in Man in 2002
when his father became tragically ill. With MAN,
George has toured extensively around Europe playing
with many of the top rock acts of the Last 50
years. George has recorded numerous albums with
Man as well as being heavily involved in the bands
back catalogue.
In 2008 George departed from MAN and is now working
with Drummer Bob Richards, Guitarist Chris Buck
and Bassist Glenn Quinn on a new project, the
band will be recording a new album this year.
George is also very active in promoting his fathers
achivements and is working on various recording
projects and a signature guitar that will be avaliable
to purchace, a portion of profits from these projects
will aid the "Samantha Dickinson Brain Tumour
Trust", a charity that George and Micky have
donated to in the past.
A versatile player who likes to try his hand at
anything. He has also worked with The Channel
Hoppers, The Steffan Tucker Band and has jammed
with countless other bands. George hooked up with
Dazz and Lizzie in The Spectaculars from 2005-2008
and Recorded the Album 'Vicious Pop' in 2007,
with producer Adam Fuest (Blade Runner, The Cure,
Toni Braxton). When The Spectaculars finished
in early 2008 the three of them formed "The
Cover Sluts" who have been gigging solidly
ever since.
