Australian guitarist KIM HUMPHREYS spent his formative years on the pub circuits of Sydney and Melbourne. Memorable moments include sharing the stage and touring with The Kinks, The Easybeats, Bo Diddley, Sam & Dave, INXS, Rose Tattoo, Midnight Oil, Canned Heat, and on several occasions, jamming with both Angus and Malcolm Young!

By the mid 90’s Kim elected to focus his energies on becoming a session player, teaching and producing his own brand of guitar instrumental music which combines elements of Blues, Country, Rockabilly, Latin and Surf.

His playing has since featured on countless jingles, commercials and recordings for other artists. His own music has been used in films, TV shows and on numerous. compilation albums.

Like all rock musicians, Kim has had his share of Spinal Tap moments, the most unforgettable being asked to play Nigel in a Spinal Tap tribute show!

Recently he promoted gigs featuring ‘60’s Number #1 charting Oz Surf / Rock legends, The Atlantics, The Denvermen and The Aztecs. Subsequently it was a great honour to be asked to share the stage with these iconic performers.

Kim’s playing always focuses on melody and as a result he is one of the very few Australian rock instrumentalists to have his music played regularly on mainstream radio. His crossover style has found him a five times finalist in the instrumental category of The Australian Country Music Awards since 2001, including 2009 with Nashville Express, recorded with his Vintage TC200 (Tele).
