Lee Hodgson
A
professional guitarist since 1979, Lee is mainly known
as a country picker although he actually plays many
different styles, often featuring MIDI-guitar (piano,
strings etc.). Lee is a senior instructor at London’s
Guitar Institute. He has also made many tutorial DVDs
for Lick Library (featuring his wonderful Fret-King
guitars of course!).
Lee has been playing on the British country scene since
1987, appearing with Memphis Roots at Wembley Arena
and the Royal Albert Hall plus countless clubs, festivals
etc. Lee continues to play UK country festivals and
clubs with the Steve Cherelle Band and Boney Fingers
and also plays major festivals and club venues in France
with the Billy Curtis Band.
Lee is also working with a 60s/70s style band, the Stray
Kool Kats. He has also done plenty of jazz-funk, pop
& soul gigs too, including tours with chart-toppers
Odyssey, George McRae, and Top 10 act, Bobby Thurston
– an after show party presented the opportunity
to jam with Stevie Wonder's Wonderlove!
Lee has been a magazine columnist and transcriber for
Guitarist since the mid-80s and for Guitar Techniques
since 1994 and has written a book, Hot Country.
Lee
plays and endorses the following Fret-King models:
Fret-King Corona 60 SP
Fret-King Super S (Country Squire)
Fret-King Elan Super 60 HBP
