Vintage®Electric

Vintage, a guitar brand synonymous with
tradition, excellence, style, flair and originality.

Vintage, the marque which embodies all of the
above, and which has developed a solid
reputation for bringing high levels of playability,
specification and value to guitarists keen to get
the best, for less.

It`s true to say that the very best guitars are
built from the inside out.

Vintage is renowned for building great guitars.

With this all-new 2005 range we`ve made a
great guitar even better.

Taking the ‘inside out’ route, we`ve worked with world famous ‘Guitar Guru’, Trev Wilkinson® to examine every detail of every Vintage model.
This will ensure that the subtle niceties which
contribute to giving a guitar that almost
indefinable ‘wow' factor are built into every
Vintage guitar, right from the design stage.

At Vintage, we`ve worked with Trev to re-specify and re-dimension body shapes, fingerboard radiusing, neck and body profiles, string pull angles, headstock designs, and other criteria which contribute to that all-important ‘feel’. And now, even more so, Vintage guitars are made to sit comfortably in your hands from the first touch, to make your playing experience the best ever.

We`ve co-operated with TWDA (Trev Wilkinson® Design Associates) to re-specify all Vintage pickups and electronics to produce killer tones and versatility, giving the sonic range, response and dynamic capabilities which will really let you express your music.

TWDA have re-specified all the hardware
ensuring the highest possible component quality. Re-engineered all of the tuners to provide maximum tuning stability. Re-worked all bridge designs to provide accurate, stable tuning, where the sonic contribution provided by the bridges is faithful and true to the original designs.

All Vintage solid body guitars and basses now
feature genuine Wilkinson® design pickups,
electronics, hardware, tuners and bridges.

Here`s a few words from Trev on ‘the Vintage project’...

An FAQ amongst guitarists, is “What`s the
difference between a £200 guitar and a £2000
guitar?”

The obvious answer – £1800!

By and large, factory produced guitars are the
result of very similar processes at any price.

Neck profiles, fingerboard radii, fret wire, pickups, bridges, tuners, body designs and timbers can all be the same in any price range.

The magic is in bringing it all together to make the end result much more than just the sum of the parts!

What really makes the difference is being, from the outset, determined NOT just to build down to a price, but instead designing IN from the very beginning the correct specifications, parts and features. Then, with training, care, consistency, attention to detail, precision and rigorous QC, it`s possible to build a great guitar without breaking anyone`s bank.

JHS have always offered unbeatable value for
money with their guitar brands.

Now they have just got even better.

Here at TWDA (Trev Wilkinson Design Associates) we examined, measured and dimensioned every single element of every guitar in the already very successful Vintage solid body range, with the express intention of ensuring that all of the materials and processes were correct, that redesigning all of the hardware, incorporating custom features usually only found on high end ‘ Boutique’ instruments and designing and building custom pickups just like we would for a for a ‘High Dollar’ guitar.

We`ve travelled the world to work closely with the finest factories, ensuring that the secret art of the set up, and the “finer points” shine thru in these latest Vintage guitars, to bring you, for an ordinary price, an extraordinary guitar.
