About Francesco Sacco

Francesco Sacco is an Italian bass and guitar player, experimenting with different styles ever since he was 10 years old. At the age of 16, he was mostly playing rock and metal, and then moved on to bass. He also played with various bands and dabbled in pop, electronic and instrumental music.

From 2010 to 2013 he was studying music as well as playing with bands from his hometown Portici (Italy), with whom he recorded various EP’s. In November 2014, Francesco joined the south Italian rock band Hangarvain as their new bass player. His first EP with the band, ‘Naked’, is available on YouTube and Spotify.

To promote the album, within a year of its release, the band played more than 80 gigs all around Italy and shared the stage with famous artists such Fabio Lione (Angra, ex Rhapsody Of Fire, ex Vision Divine), Pino Scotto (former singer of Vanadium), Diaframma, DGM, Sad (European Metallica Tribute Band) and Y&T.

In May 2015 Francesco started working as a music tutor, teaching guitar and bass lessons. Meanwhile still playing with Hangarvain they performed 10 tour dates, sharing 5 dates in Italy and Austria with the Norwegian glam rock band Niterain.

2016 saw Francesco and the band launch their single ‘Keep Falling’, and toured Spain during February. In March they released the song ‘Freaks’, with the Italian record label ‘Volcano Records’, available on Spotify. During this time, Francesco also recorded a cover of ‘Me and Mary Jane’ by Black Stone Cherry, which is available on Youtube.

After the release of ‘Freaks’, Hangarvain toured all around Italy, playing as special guests for many talented rock stars such as Gilby Clarke (ex Guns n’ Roses), L.A. Guns, The Darkness and Hardcore Superstar. They also shared the stage with Skillet in Kiev, Ukraine.

In October of the same year, the band travelled around Italy for their ‘StayFrekStayFree’ tour, playing in some of the biggest cities such as Savona, Milano, Napoli, Livorno and more. After the success of their tour, Hangarvain had the opportunity to perform a special Christmas concert on December 26th, playing most of their hits unplugged.

2017 saw Francesco making temporary changes, he joined the rock band Mastribes as their new bass player, and released the single ‘Body Talk’ on Youtube. Whilst with this band, he played gigs in Italy, the most memorable being part of the lineup for L.A Guns’s tour of their ‘The Missing Peace’ album.

In 2018 Francesco was back with the band Hangarvain, and they released the EP “Roots and Returns”, available on Spotify and Youtube. They also released a music video for ‘I Heard Through the Grapevine’, a cover of Marvin Gaye. Following the album release, Francesco performed many gigs with Hangarvain to promote the album, travelling as far as the Ukraine and Latvia.

After this tour, Francesco left Hangarvian as he wanted to focus on himself, and his music tutor career, so he could create his own music and provide support to those who need it.

2019 sees Francesco working as a music tutor, as well as a proud jam session man, playing gigs and recording music when he can. He's also featured in the single ‘The Tale of Inconsistent God’ with the 'Metal Remnants' of Steve Remnant.
