About Rob Lane

"If you go and see any band with Laney74 on bass you know you are going to see a Rock show – top value for money and well worth going to see.” BulletBoys Live Review

Always one to stay busy and active, Rob (Laney74) Lane has divided his musical commitments between several hard working bands on the UK and International music scene. Since 2004, his band TEENAGE CASKET COMPANY, have combined the fun and energy of radio friendly Hard Rock but bolted to a raw punk edged backbone! The band are armed with an endless stream of hook laden anthems and released two hugely popular CD’s – 2005’s debut ‘Dial It Up’ voted ‘Independent Album Of The Year’ by POWERPLAY MAGAZINE and 2006’s ‘Eat Your Heart Out’. Their new album 'Still Standing' is available now and the band are touring all over the UK to support.

In the past, Laney was bassist with the multi-million selling American Hard Rock band, THE BULLETBOYS when they headed out on their first European live shows in seventeen years. He was the only UK musician on a line up also featuring legendary US rock acts Faster Pussycat and Enuff Z'Nuff, The American Glam Slam Tour performed throughout the UK before flying to Norway, Switzerland, Spain and Italy. Since then Rob has been the touring bassist for the band each time they return to Europe. Laney also performs with 90's pop sensations LET LOOSE whose 1994 hit 'Crazy For You' sold over 400,000 copies. After hooking up with singer Richie Wermerling in 2007 to work on his Feetgazer project, he would later lend his hand to the Let Loose 'Paint It in Gold' album recording sessions and was excited to be invited back to be part of the reformation of the band.

Always on call, his Rock Résumé also features tours as a member of THE BLACK MOLLYS, JOHNNY MONACO (Enuff Z'Nuff) & THE TRAITORS and RICHARD BACCHUS (D Generation) & THE LUCKIEST GIRLS. He also has his own unique musical / movie side project, STRAIGHT TO VIDEO, which is a tribute to the classic 1980's Movie Soundtracks. The debut EP featured contributions from members of BOWLING FOR SOUP and ENUFF Z'NUFF. In 2010 Laney won 'BASSIST OF THE YEAR' at London's prestigious PURE RAWK AWARDS which received 15,000 Votes worldwide.

Whether it be Hard Rock, Glam or Power Pop, Laney is equally at home as long as there is a stage and an audience!
