Rock’n’roll guitar music is replete with instantly recognisable sounds associated with the instruments which create them and the players who play them.

The Vintage ProShop Unique V52 'Brown Sugar' pays homage to one of the most iconic guitar sounds in the history of rock’n’roll.

'Brown Sugar' is based upon the Vintage ICON Series V52 modern relic in Butterscotch, itself highly regarded as a ‘go-to’ guitar by a whole host of well-heeled players across many categories.

Countless hours of work by the highly skilled luthiers in the Vintage ProShop team, have created a one-off piece, which looks like it has been played to within an inch of its life for 60+ years and been modified, altered, improved, hot-rodded, and personalised along the way.

Upgraded with Bare Knuckle pickups 'Brown Sugar' features The Mule in the neck position complete with solid nickel silver bass plate and cover, in a black surround, which delivers exquisitely accurate ’Patent Applied For’ humbucker sonics, outstanding clarity, fast bass response, full mids and a soaring high end. The bridge position relies upon a Bare Knuckle Black Guard Flat 50, with a thicker zinc plated steel bass plate and flat profile magnets, for that classic, period correct chime, sparkle, and snarl that 'Brown Sugar' is associated with.

This is a player’s guitar. Without doubt fine details like the aged headstock, neck and fingerboard, and the original Butterscotch finish taken back to the Eastern poplar body in all the correct friction-worn areas that contribute to yet another hand-created one-off, ultra-realistic Unique, from the Vintage ProShop Team.

Their skills are also highlighted with the subtle hardware distressing, the 6 in-line die cast machine heads, along with the control plate and bridge, and it’s with the hardware where we’ve saved the key feature ‘til last.

In pure traditional style, the 'Brown Sugar' bridge features an Allparts baseplate fitted with Wilkinson WVP solid steel saddles, just five of them for an authentic look.

Supplied tuned to open G you’ll wonder why 'Brown Sugar' looks and sounds so good, and for complete satisfaction, this gorgeous guitar ships with the sixth saddle.

With meticulous attention paid to the fine details of this superb instrument, we salute the luthiery skills of the Vintage ProShop team who set the seal on their wonderful work by giving 'Brown Sugar' a full ProShop set up that includes: -

  • Fret-level, crown and polish.

  • Truss rod adjustment and set.
