Over the years, the original V59™ Vintage® ICON™ Series single cut-away electric guitar, instantly recognisable by its incredibly authentic distressed finish, double bound body, hard maple neck and fingerboard, looking for all the world like its spent years in the studio and on the road, has become a firm favourite with guitar players around the world, offering something for everything within superior construction, stunning authentic looks and exceptional playability and tone.

Once again, the Vintage ProShop team of professional luthiers have had their hands on this stunning model, applying more authentic upgrades to appeal to connoisseurs who want a professionally built guitar as close as they they can get to models from the 1950’s and early 60’s.

Whilst the cream ivory body bindings remain, the Vintage ProShop team have spent hours recreating wear and tear abrasions in all the right places, revealing areas of the Eastern poplar body right down to hairline cracks in the lacquered top coat over the Gun Hill Blue finish, the only way these master craftsmen know how.

This gorgeous finish is now offset with a single-ply black Bakelite scratchplate which, with its satin finish adds that early 60’s vibe and a perfect match to the distressed hardware.

Hardware which includes Wilkinson Deluxe WJ55S machine heads and the world famous Wilkinson WTB compensating bridge, which, along with the control plate have also been carefully and meticulously aged to blend into the pre-worn picture.

Apart from the incredible visual aesthetics, the ProShop team have also performed outstanding work within, with new wiring and pickup choices.

For that retro feel, this stunning guitar now features internal cloth wiring and…we’ve left this to last, for extra punch and power, they’ve installed the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound set of hot, single coil neck and bridge pickups.

The neck pickup alone is a rhythm beast with huge sounding chords and full, fat lead tones that will cut through any mix.

With the volume control wound back a tad on the bridge pickup, there’s more than enough natural twang and chime associated with this guitar, up full, there’s an unbelievable, powerful midrange surge from the ¼” diameter alnico 5 rod magnets, where soaring lead lines and chords effortlessly chime with sparkly harmonics without sounding brash.

Aside from the attention to the fine details of the superb aesthetics, superb playability and exceptional tone, the ProShop V59 Gun Hill Blue comes with a full ProShop in-house set-up which includes:

• Fret-level, crown and polish.
Fingerboard dress and comfort treatment.
