A fine example and a challenge for the highly skilled team of Vintage luthiers on how to actually improve this popular model. They were indeed hard pressed, finally deciding to transform this stunning model into a ProShop Fretless Bass.
Whilst maintaining the beautiful high gloss 3-tone Sunburst finish and hard rock maple neck, it’s within the fingerboard that the team have excelled, with the skilled removal of all 20 frets and the inclusion of inlaid position markers, for a super smooth playing surface.
Needless to say, with a pair of highly responsive Wilkinson WOJB pickups in the neck and bridge positions, these single coils, with ultimate clarity and articulation, effortlessly capture the smooth warm slides, vibrato techniques and distinct vocal qualities associated with fretless bass guitars.
